    Description

Oh, take me back!  Here is an original rental rate card from the Ravenna, Ohio Hotel.  Room 35, to be exact.  The rates are written in pen, and it looks like they were adjusted at one point in pencil.  One person could rent room 35 for a day, for two folks.  The one-sided rate card still resides in its metal frame that was nailed to the inside of the door.  At some point, someone got careless and got paint on the sides, front and back.  The rate card slides in and out and is in very good condition -- no paint.  The overall item, with frame case, is about 13” x 5”.   I’d date this to the 1940-1950s, give or take a decade.  The Ravenna Hotel dated to the mid 19
    th
century and became the Etna House in downtown Ravenna in the 20
    th
century.  This rate card also carries local and state regulations on behavior.  It was printed by the American Hotel Register Co. of Chicago.
