Description

Columbia Grafonola or Graphonola De Luxe circa approximately 1909. The De Luxe was the top of the line in the music player market during its day. Its case is mahogany and it plays both phonographs and Regina metal tune sheets. The mahogany case produces a very rich and deep sound. Here is a video of this piece playing a tune sheet: https://youtu.be/GRlWewaBK7k. Measures approximately 51" x 21" x 19".
The case features carved lion head with clawed feet, and sliding front doors, a cabinet with storage, a silver tone arm, built-in horn, and a removable turntable for phonograph play. There are some scuffs and scratches on the exterior of the cabinet, and some wear on the turntable felt. The top lid catch is also missing, which means the lid must be leaned up on a wall to stay open, but the piece is fully functional. This particular model phonograph does not show up in auction settings often due to its rarity, and this is a very desirable piece for vintage phonograph collectors. Includes original turntable, three tune sheets, copy of original instruction manual, small box with phonograph brush, and five empty phonograph storage albums.
