    Description

Disclaimer: I used to list my unstarted kits as NEW.  Technically, they don't meet the eBay definition because, in order to be new, they should be also unopened, which this clearly isn't.  So I'm revising it as 'used'.  That doesn't change the fact that it is UNstarted, UNassembled, and, as far as I know, complete.  Any exceptions, such as missing parts or damaged decal sheet will be noted to the best of my ability.
Midwest Pattern Master Model Airplane Kit.
60” wingspan, fuselage is approximately 44" long,  for .35 to .49 glow engines.
For reference, plan shows an HP 40.
From several decades ago when you still had to build ‘em before you could fly ‘em.
Complete as far as I can tell, but no guarantees.
This is a Hal de Bolt design intended as a first fully aerobatic model back in the day.
It has a fully symmetrical airfoil approx. 15% thick.  Unlike earlier deBolt designs, both wing and elevator seem to be at 0 degrees incidence.  It also includes parts and instructions to build a dedicated wing jig.
In 1980 (when this kit came out) through the 90s, Midwest was, in my opinion, a cut above most other kit manufacturers.
It offered better parts fit, better packaging, and better instructions.
If built correctly, their models flew well and were quite sturdy.
Of course, this is relative to the standards of several decades ago.
Still, this would be an enjoyable kit to build, and not particularly complicated if you’ve already tackled a kit or two of that era, but it's by no means a 'beginner's kit'.  Conversion to four‑stroke or electric should be easily achieved by anyone experienced enough to build a kit like this.
Plans and box show their age but are fully functional.
Relatively rare, I haven’t found an online source for this kit’s plans, so if you intend to build this one, I would strongly advise making one or two copies of the plans before you start.
Also, don’t know whether this kit came with decals, but there aren’t any in the box, which otherwise looks complete and in good shape considering the age.
    For specifications, please see pictures.
If you got here through a targeted search, you know some of these kits are getting difficult to find, so you understand how the starting bid is dictated by the market.
Please check my other items as I am also listing a number of kits from the 60s and 70s that are perfect for Vintage RC events.
If you got here randomly, here’s a chance to build a unique model airplane from several decades ago.
I try to describe all my items as honestly as I can and provide a reasonable shipping fee.  For these reasons, I don’t accept returns.  I encourage you to ask questions if you feel my description is inadequate or incorrect.
