    John McClellan had a very brief run as a center playing just a pair of games for the Maple Leafs in the 1951-52 season  aAfter his playing days, though, he was Toronto's head coach (1969-1973) with two appearances in the playoffs.
    I am listing a number of old time hockey players' autographs that have been part of my collection since 1970.  I purchased them from a collector who had gotten most of them in the 1940's and 1950's and many of the players signed when they were still playing minor league hockey before making it to the NHL.
