    Description

    Johnnie Consolidated Gold Mining Co. Stock Certificate
    Johnnie Mine in Nevada is located northeast of the Johnnie ghost town and a few miles from Pahrump.  Johnnie was discovered in 1890 during a search for the Lost Breyfogle. The Johnnie Mine produced over one million dollars in gold by 1913 which amounts to nearly million US in gold today. Certificate dates from 1908 and is exceedingly scarce, found in a tin can in the mine many years ago. As such the certificate is in fair-to-poor condition but still intact overall, signed and issued. Doubleday is a signatory and later sold his interests in the mine in part to found the Doubleday publishing empire.
