[Description]
This product was developed by COLUMBIA and was released from 1925 to the 30s.
A floor-type gramophone for playing SP records, which has a very rare value.
This is Viva-Tonal Model 612.
At the beginning of 1900, Columbia was Victor Talking Machine,
And I was in the middle of a three-way "record war" with Edison.
Victor aims to manufacture SP records, and Edison aims to reach even higher levels with wax cylinders.
During the transition period from this wax cylinder to SP, each company was trying to make a new attempt.
Colombia focused primarily on media production for phonograph and 78rpm records rather than gramophones.
While maintaining good relationships with the previous two companies, we have developed our own technology.
During this time, the company was manufacturing relatively small gramophones like the Model 117.
Obtained a license from Western Electric in 1925.
With the announcement of this "Viva-Tonal" series, we have established a solid position in gramophone manufacturing.
Since 1925, gramophones have also been in the transition period from manual winding to electric.
Columbia's gramophone, along with Bell Labs' wax cylinder gramophone,
It is a rare item that can be said to be one of the oldest manual turntables / gramophones in the world.

■ Handling precautions ■
・ Replace the playback needle with a new one using 2 SP discs (2-4 songs) as a guide.
・ The motor is driven by turning a dedicated crank.
(It can be played for about 20 minutes when fully wound (about 90 times).
